Christmas Tree DOUGH Ornaments

Dough Ornaments made From Flour
(Get an Adult or Parent to Help You with These)

Make your very own Christmas tree ornaments from the flour in your kitchen!

Items You Need:

2 cups flour
2 cups salt
1 cup water
Christmas Cookie Cutters
Paint and brushes
Yarn or String for hanging
Craft decorations
Glues, Glitters, Beads, Sequins
Oven Temperature at 225 Degrees F

How to Mix Your Dough:

Mix the flour, salt and water to make the dough. Knead it with your hands for about 10 minutes. Roll out the dough to the thickness you want your ornament to be and then cut it with the cookie cutters.

Make a hole with a pencil at the top (for the yarn or string to go through).

* Put your dough ornaments on a cookie sheet and bake them at 225 degrees F for 2 or 3 hours. (Make sure to turn them over at least 3 times so they bake evenly.) * An adult needs to place these in the oven. Be careful!

When they are a light golden color or appear to be done, take them out and let them cool completely. Now, you can decorate them however you want. Thread the yarn through the hole you made with the pencil, tie it into a knot and now you can hang your dough ornament on the tree!

Dough Ornaments can be made to look like people, animals or anything you want. Use wiggle eyes, yarn for hair or fur and even felt to make clothing. Use your imagination to make a great ornament or even give one as a gift to give to someone at Christmas.
