Holiday Chain

Holiday Chain made of paper

First, pick the biggest, best, favoritest holiday you celebrate this time of year (could be Hanukkah, Christmas, Kwanzaa, Ramadam, even New Years). Now you are ready to make your holiday chain to count down the big day!

Look at your calendar and figure out how many days are left until the big day.

Then, cut colored construction paper into strips (about 2 inches wide and 5 inches long, or whatever size you want).

Make sure you have one strip for each day. Then, fold the first strip into a loop, and glue or tape it closed. Make a chain by looping the next strip though the first one. And so on, until all your strips are done.

You can even add little notes, words or pictures to each link - decorate your paper chain however you want!

Then, as each day goes by, tear off a loop. When the chain's gone, the big day is finally here!
